On Saturday January 31a number of our brothers will get together at Niall Hopkins shop in South Yarmouth at 11:00 AM to come up with a design and list of supplies needed to build our AOH float for the St. Patrick’s Parade on March 7th. Volunteers are needed on a number of days over the next few weeks in order to make the float a reality. As usual the Parade Colleen Queen and her Court will ride on the AOH float as we are awarding the Scholarships.
The AOH St. Patrick’s Dinner Dance, now more commonly called The Grand Marshal’s Ball will be held on the evening before the Parade - Friday March 6th at the Irish Village. The Scholarship winners, being the Colleen Queen and 3 court members will be named and introduced at this event. Tickets are $37.00 each this year and they are going fast. If you hope to attend please call Tom MacCormaic today at 508-737-9256 to reserve your tickets. As usual, there will be great Irish Entertainment. Please Do Not Delay!
5th Annual Amvets Chili Fest @ the Irish Village, Sunday February 15, 1-5 PM. Donation $10.00, children under 12 free. Music by Dave Hickey & Sean Brennan. Proceeds to assist Amvets charities.
11th Annual Taste of Ireland Festival @ the Irish Village "Blas Na h Eireann" Sunday February 22, from 2-6 PM. Donation $15.00 - proceeds to assist the Irish Immigration Center in Boston. There will be live Irish entertainment.
Our Division of the AOH sponsored a team in the Yarmouth Instructional Basketball League. The League’s final game will be played on Saturday February 28 at 10:00 AM. A representative of our Division is invited to assist in handing out awards to the deserving teams and to accept a sponsor’s plaque following the completion of the game.
On Sunday March 1 - O’Shea’s Olde Inne will sponsor a concert by Curragh’s Fancy, a popular Irish band from the Boston area from 1-5 PM. Other local Irish performers will also entertain. The suggested minimum donation is $10.00. Proceeds will be donated to assist the Cape Cod St. Patrick’s Parade.
Our next meeting is Tuesday February 24 at 7:30 PM at O’Shea’s Olde Inne in West Dennis. Every member’s attendance is strongly encouraged.
2009 Division Dues of $50.00 are now payable. Payments may be made at the monthly meeting or mailed to Steve Gill (Financial Secretary) at 6 Nottingham Dr. - E. Sandwich, MA 02537.
